Audits, Reviews and Compilations
We view our role in the financial reporting process as an opportunity to provide constructive solutions for maximizing your company's profitability and efficiency. We provide financial reporting on all three levels of assurance:
- Audit - a risk-based examination with the highest level of assurance
- Review - some analytical procedures conducted with limited assurance
- Compilation - based upon client information provided and used primarily for internal use.
We view our role in the financial reporting process, regardless of service level, as an opportunity to provide constructive solutions for maximizing your company's profitability and efficiency.
Our audit process uses a risk-based approach, which maximizes audit efficiency and effectiveness. We plan and coordinate our work to a detailed level before fieldwork to ensure that the audit process does not intrude on your day-to-day activities any more than necessary.
We use the audit process to evaluate the strength of our client's system internal controls and provide recommendations to improve our clients processes whenever possible.
We are always happy to meet with the client's audit committee, board of directors, or other governing body both before and after the audit to ensure that there is robust communication between the organization's governing body and the auditor. In addition to meeting with the board after the audit to communicate audit results and recommended improvements, we also encourage the governing body to meet with us before the audit to involve them in the planning and scope of the audit as much as possible.
Clients who do not need a full audit but would still like limited assurance on their financial statements should consider a review, which can be a more cost-efficient service. A review is not as detailed as an audit, with procedures limited mostly to analytical review of the financial statements presented as opposed to the detail testing required by auditing standards.
Compilations differ from reviews and audits as they are based upon client information provided and used primarily for internal use only as no assurance is expressed. Since no assurance is expressed, compilations can be prepared with or without full GAAP note disclosures. Many clients find this flexibility best suits their needs.

Coming Soon - Peer Review Services
Coming Soon - Peer Review Services
Peer review is the mechanism the accounting profession uses to ensure that accounting firms practicing attest engagements (audits, reviews and compilations) are providing these services in a manner that upholds standards promulgated by the American Society of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). We believe this program is instrumental to ensure that all firms practicing attest services provide the best level of service possible to their clients.
Due to regulatory changes in many states including California, many firms that were not subject to the peer review requirements in the past will now be subjected to them as a matter of state law in the years going forward. We will soon be providing these services to other members of the accounting profession to do our part to ensure that a high level of service is provided to the public at large.
